| STAR Sportsmanship is based on solid research on instructional design using interactive, online activities to change behaviors through role-playing exercises and modeling of consequences. The result is an engaging, educational experience that appeals to today’s technology-oriented students, coaches, parents, and officials. |
STAR / MYSPORTSMANSHIP.COM INTEGRATION
With more states mandating its usage, the STAR Sportsmanship
program will see vastly increased usage in the coming months and
years. By the end of 2008, STAR will be fully integrated into
the MySportsmanship.com social networking site. All students who
complete STAR will be exposed to MySportsmanship.com and
encouraged to participate and spread the word.
MySportsmanship.com is being developed to leverage this growth
opportunity and the resulting revenue opportunities.
STAR SIQ (SPORTSMANSHIP IQ)
The Sportsmanship IQ is a proprietary measure of an
individual’s knowledge and values relating to
sportsmanship. The SIQ is calculated from a self-assessment test
that categorizes the respondent’s sportsmanship style as
“Follower”, “Reactor”,
“Thinker”, and “Leader” and helps the
test-taker identify their strengths and weaknesses. Research is
underway to determine the SIQ’s applicability as a
predictive tool (i.e., a tool that can help determine in advance
if a student is going to exhibit negative sportsmanship-related
behaviors that could lead to suspension).
AGILE ISSUE RESOLUTION
STAR includes extensive client and server-side logging systems
that track user interactions, database requests and responses,
curriculum engine logic, and unexpected errors. A client-side
log window can be opened with one click in the event of an
error, and the log
transmitted to Trylonix Corp. engineers for analysis. In most
cases, the log contains enough
information to pinpoint the problem without more end-user
interaction, and errors are normally resolved in 24 hours or
less. |
